For as long as I can remember, I have been aware that a well lived life is our birthright. I believe that at any age, and at any station or income, it is possible to have snippets of sparkle.
I have lived on both sides of the line between the haves and have-nots. Even though I struggled to raise my children, and there were many, many times I couldn’t see beyond the light bills, gas, insurance, groceries, and all the things that come with doing it on one’s own, I still held fast to living my best life!

Entertaining…. having people you care about who bring something interesting to the table, literally and figuratively!
Last night I had the delight of hosting an all-girl cocktail party – a little food, a little booze and a good time was had by all. Entertaining does NOT mean you have to spend a lot to make a big impact. In fact, the best occasions can be created with just what you already have, but the trick is to do something unexpected and interesting.
It’s easier than you think to find new uses for random items around the house. Suddenly an old box adds flair to your bar, and a weird old bucket is an attractive cooler for your wine. I even have an old hollowed-out tree trunk I found on the side of the road, and I’ve used it as bowl for chips, an ice bucket and a centerpiece! Tie some fresh rosemary with twine, and you have a great gift to place at the table setting for your guests.
All of this in a nutshell is just making the people you love feel special. I take great pleasure in just that.
